Mary Lou Diggs believes in God. It’s the Lord who keeps her going each day. She needs all the help she can get to survive each day because over the last 17 years, two of her sons were murdered and another son is spending the rest of his life in prison for murder.

Abbeville City Councilman Wayne Landry organized a town hall meeting weeks ago to discuss the open homicide cases in both Abbeville and Vermilion Parish, not knowing exactly what would come of it. Four of the cases occurred in Landry’s District D.

An Erath High School teacher succumbs to injuries from a single car accident on La. 14 between Delcambre and New Iberia. Amy Brown Noel, who is an organ donor, was pronounced dead Thursday morning at Lafayette General Hospital.
