The halls of Herod are being cleaned by Pastor B.K. Stevens.

The old Herod High School has turned into an eyesore for Abbeville. An Abbeville preacher wants to change that, and he sold his house in Eunice and is using the money to begin the process of making Herod better.

Funds raised during the Celebrity Waiter Dinner go the Boys & Girls Club Rodney Unit in Abbeville. The club serves hundreds of students throughout the year.

The Celebrity Waiter Dinner, an event held each year to support the local Boys & Girls Club, has continued to grow since its inception more than 20 years ago.

The front part of the house and the second story were engulfed in flames when the Abbeville Fire Department arrived Thursday morning.

A home that stood in Abbeville for 116 years is now gone. An early morning fire destroyed the home Thursday on the corner of Charity Street and South Guegnon Street.
