LAFAYETTE — How exactly new revenue is generated to help improve the state’s transportation infrastructure remains open for discussion. However that comes about, officials agree new revenue in that area is critical to move the state forward. The state’s top elected official is pushing for ideas to help make that happen.

The Les Miles era in Baton Rouge has reportedly come to an end. A day after LSU fell to 2-2 with an 18-13 loss at Auburn, the Baton Rouge Advocate first reported that Miles has been fired as head coach. The news has since been confirmed by several other outlets.

Two boat launches in Vermilion recognized

Abbeville Mayor Mark Piazza (in red jacket) and the Abbeville Harbor and Terminal District President Tim Creswell cut the grand opening ribbon at the Abbeville Boat launch on Tuesday morning. The boat launch is located next to the La. 14 Bypass Bridge coming into Abbeville. City, parish and state officials were on hand for the ribbon cutting.
