Organizers of the Giant Omelette Celebration are celebrating the event’s 30th year. Three involved with the group are celebrating their own milestones this year. Mickey Atchetee, Darrel Comb and Brenda Comeaux Trahan have risen to the rank of chevalier, the chefs who help prepare the 5,000 egg omelette.
All Saints Day is this Saturday and St. Mary Magdalen Parish releases its cemetery schedule.  During this annual commemoration, cemeteries are blessed in order to remember those who have gone on before us in death.  This year the schedule for the blessing of cemeteries is as follows:

Roddie Romero and the Hub City All-Stars will perform Saturday at noon.

The Giant Omelette Celebration turns 30 years old this year and because of that, the person who is in charge of landing the music entertainment for the Celebration got the green light to try and get good musical entertainment.

Driver of White Ford Ranger gets ticket for running a red light

The Abbeville Fire Department, police and Acadian Ambulance responded to the accident.

Milton Mouton was given a ticket by the Abbeville Police Department after he ran a red light and hit the car driven by Laurie Fitch Monday afternoon at around 3:30 in front of the Farm Bureau Cent

Merline T. Broussard, Ph.D., 78, passed away October 28, 2014, after a brief illness. Dr. Broussard is survived by her devoted husband of 52 years, Earle J. Broussard and one son, Brian M.
