Kaplan Police are looking for a person in regards to a theft of equipment from a business which occurred in the City of Kaplan. Chief of Police Boyd Adams is asking for help from the citizens to identify this man. If anyone has information on his identity, please call Kaplan Police at 643-8600.
According to Vermilion Parish Sheriff Mike Couvillon, one person has been arrested and booked into the Vermilion Parish Correctional Center Monday in connection to an early morning shooting that left one person dead.

Honda Accord crashes into single-lane bridge; driver takes off

The driver of this vehicle took off after running into the bridge on Vermilion Street in Abbeville Wednesday morning. She was later found by the Abbeville Police Department.

The Abbeville Police Department arrived at a single car accident on Oak Street only to find the driver of the black Honda Accord missing.

Abbeville family in need after mobile home fire

Kristi Cormier and her fiancé were in the process of upgrading their newly purchased mobile home when their lives were turned upside down because the mobile home caught on fire.
