One Vermilion Parish School Board member is already worried about the 2014-15 budget, three months into the fiscal year. What makes School Board member Anthony Fontana worry even more is that the government is not going to approve funding to help pay for the second phase of rewiring eight schools.

An Abbeville man is probably alive today because he and his wife live right across the street from the Herbert Myles Fire Station located off Maude Avenue.

The reigning Ms. Abbeville lost her short battle with Leukemia Thursday at the age of 21. Paige Levine, an Abbeville High graduate, was diagnosed with Leukemia in June and in only a few months she is gone. Funeral services are pending and Kinchen Funeral Home in Abbeville is handling the arrangements.
