The Abbeville Rotary Club purchased this 4H hog at the recent Vermilion Parish Junior Livestock Show. The hog was raised by Katherine Trahan, daughter of Blaine and Stacy Trahan of Abbeville. All of the meat will be made into pork sausage and donated to the Christian Service Center in Abbeville. Rotarians pictured with Katherine are Mark Shirley, Riley Landry and Charles Dill.

RiverFront Restaurant, located on the Vermilion River in downtown Abbeville, officially came down Friday morning. Co-owners Jenny LeBlanc and Brian Rush the 31-year-old building torn down months after it caught fire and burned most of the inside of the building on Sept. 11, 2012.

At noon on Thursday, the Vermilion River continues to rise in Vermilion Parish. In Abbeville, RiverFront, which is closed because it caught fire a few months ago, is now being threaten to get flooded because of the high water on the river.
