The HES School level winners are First Grade Poetry “Butterflies” Taija Trahan; Second Grade Poetry “Apples” Jameni Riley; Second Grade Fiction “My Apple Tree” Stefan Briggs; Fourth Grade Non-Fiction “My Greatest Wishes” Keyvina Powel; Fifth Grade Poetry “Silly Bands” Angel Richardson (not pictured); Fifth Grade Fiction “Louisiana’s Zoc Zoo Zec” Jaquala Hebert. The student work was sent to the parish-level contest in December.

![]() EMS–The Student Council Officers from Erath Middle School recently visited the pre-k students at Dozier Elementary to read to the students in Ms. Angie’s class and Ms. Ashley’s class. This is one of the EMS officers service projects for the year in preparation for State Convention which will be held in Lake Charles in January.
