Ashley Nicole Romero and Kody Paul Meaux were united in Holy Matrimony during a 1:00 p.m. Nuptial Mass held on April 21, 2012, at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church, in Abbeville, Louisiana. Father Scott DesOrmeaux presided over the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kurt J. Romero. She is the granddaughter of Mr. James Kelly and Mrs. Clara Frederick, of Abbeville, Louisiana, and Mr. Ix and Mrs. Beverly Romero, of Abbeville, Louisiana.

The groom is the son of Mr. Kent P. Meaux, of Abbeville, Louisiana, and Ms. Kim Meaux, of San Antonio, Texas. He is the grandson of Mr. Lawrence and Mrs. Myrna Meaux, of Abbeville, Louisiana, and Ms. Janice Ellis, of Fredericksburg, Texas.

Escorted by her father, the bride wore an A-line gown with a strapless neckline and corset closure. Lace gleamed with beaded embellishments and Swarovski crystals ravished the bodice while taffeta wrapped across the waist with a side bow. An asymmetrically swept train completed the silhouette. The ivory finger tip-length veil featured a one-layer scallop-edged with silver embroidery and clear beading. To complete her look, the bride carried a bouquet of silk ivory calla lilies and Easter lilies wrapped with a satin ivory ribbon.

Lauren Frederick, friend of the bride, served as maid of honor, and Shaina Duhon, friend of the bride, served as matron of honor. Maria Romero, cousin of the bride, Christine Broussard, friend of the bride, and Kristy Gahn, aunt of the groom, served as bridesmaids during the ceremony.

The bridesmaids wore strapless peacock dresses made of satin. The dresses had pleating all along the bodice. The matron and maid of honor wore dresses with a strapless peacock bodice, which featured ruching detailed clinches at the waist with a peplum ruffle detail. The bridal attendants carried bouquets of orange Easter lilies accented with green hydrangeas and ivory tea roses wrapped with a peacock-colored ribbon.

Avery Duhon, cousin of the bride, served as flower girl, and Coen Romero, cousin of the bride, and Cannon Wheeler, cousin of the groom, served as ring bearers during the ceremony.

Jarrot Pommier, friend of the groom, served as best man. Coby Sayes, friend of the groom, Trenton Romero, brother of the bride, Seth Broussard, friend of the groom, and Mitchell Bradley, friend of the groom, served as groomsmen during the ceremony.

Nathan Romero, brother of the bride, and Canaan Frederick, cousin of the bride, served as ushers.

The mother of the bride wore a two-piece dark teal ruffle crisscross bow ensemble with a matching floor-length metallic taffeta skirt. Her corsage was made of blue mums and orange zinnias wrapped with a peacock ribbon.

The mother of the groom wore a black crepe skirt with a black shell and coordinating jacket accented with gold and silver sequins. Her corsage was made of blue mums and orange zinnias wrapped with a peacock ribbon.

Music for the ceremony was provided by Mr. Tommy Guidry and Mrs. Tammy Mautrin.

Readings were given by Jude Frederick, uncle fo the bride, and James Gahn, uncle of the groom.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at St. Theresa’s Holy Family Center.

Upon returning from a honeymoon to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, the couple plans to reside in Deridder, Louisiana.
