St. Mary Catholic Church provides setting for wedding ceremony
Avril Marie Perry became the bride of Vandon Joseph Habetz during a 11 a.m. nuptial mass on April 5, 2008 in St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Father Gary Schexnayder officiated the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Todd A. Perry of Lafayette and the late Ava Foco Perry. She is the granddaughter of Ronald and Mary Alice Foco of Jeanerette, and the late Paul and Juan Perry. She is a graduate of Lafayette High School, the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, and received a master of business administration in finance at the University of New Orleans. She is currently employed with Northwestern Mutual Financial Network of Louisiana in New Orleans.
The groom is the son of Harold J. and Priscilla Savoie Habetz of Lafayette. He is the grandson of Joseph Leland Savoie and the late Elsie Lou Savoie and the late William Andrew and Clothilde Habetz. He is a graduate of Acadiana High School and Louisiana State University with a degree in biological engineering. He is currently attending LSU Medical School in New Orleans.
The bride was escorted by her father, Todd Perry. She wore a white, strapless gown made of French taffeta. The bodice featured a pleated empire design that was accented with silver lace and crystal beading. The front of the skirt had a pleated pick up that cascaded down the center of the semi-cathedral train to a split opening revealing more beaded lace.
Maid of honor was Alysse Perry, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Camille Perry, sister of the bride; Jessica Knousse, Melanie Bacque, and Marietta Smith, friends of the bride.
Best man was Kyle Savoie, cousin of the groom. Groomsmen were Rodney Bishop, uncle of the groom; Steven Perry, brother of the bride; Nick Fontenot, and Davis White, friends of the groom.
Ushers were Andre Perry, brother of the bride; Spencer Hebert, cousin of the bride; Brandon Racca, and Josh Melancon, friends of the groom.
Ring bearer was Shaun Perry, brother of the bride.
Readers were Penny Stone, aunt of the bride; and Karleen Bishop, aunt of the groom.
A reception was held at The Ballroom.
For their honeymoon, the couple will spend a weekend in New York City to see a Yankees baseball game before heading to St. Lucia. The couple will reside in New Orleans following the wedding.
