Kassie Marie Romero and Seth Christopher Duhon were united in marriage at 7 p.m. on April 27, 2012, at La Chapelle de Attakapas at Vermilionville in Lafayette, Louisiana. Justice of the Peace, Judge Phyllis Keaty, officiated the service.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. Steven Romero, of Erath, and Ms. Renell Nunez Romero, of Delcambre. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Francis Gale Nunez, of Delcambre, and Mr. Eno Romero and Ms. Daisy Darby, of Erath.

The groom is the son of Ms. Celestina Broussard, of Erath, and Mr. and Mrs. Freddie Duhon, of Abbeville. He is the grandson of Mrs. Sally Broussard and the late Stephen Broussard, both of Erath, Ms. Vernice Duhon, of Jeanerette, and the late Bradley Duhon.

Escorted by her mother, the bride wore an ivory, A-line gown with a sweetheart bodice featuring a back covered in lace. It, also, featured cap sleeves and side-draped satin with a chapel-length train. She wore an elbow-length, one-tiered blusher veil and carried a hand-tied bouquet of ivory roses and larkspur, wrapped with antique ribbon.

Mitzi Moreau Breaux, friend of the bride, served as matron of honor. Lauren Daigle Dugas, friend of the bride, and Sada Duhon, sister of the groom, served as bridesmaids. They wore ocean-colored, tea-length jersey wrap dresses all in different styles and carried hand-tied bouquets of ivory roses and larkspur tied in ribbon matching the bride’s bouquet.

Dominic Hebert, cousin of the groom, served as best man. Jacob Primeaux and Kelly Bourg, both friends of the groom, served as groomsmen.

The mother of the bride wore an eggplant-colored, floor-length chiffon gown with a matching three-quarter sleeve jacket, both adorned with hematite crystals.

The mother of the groom wore a black tea-length A-line gown embellished with silver bead-work at the neckline and hemline.

Both mothers wore a corsage with a gold charm attached which included baby pictures of the bride and groom.

The music for the ceremony was provided by Gracie and Julie Babineaux on the guitar and fiddle.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Performance Center at Vermilionville.

After returning from their honeymoon in St. George Island, Florida, the couple plan to reside in Maurice, LA.
