Gueydan High School English teacher Brandy Broussard was selected as the assistant principal at Gueydan High. She replaces Dana Primeaux who had a mandatory move to become the new assistant principal at J. H. William in charge of Curriculum.
Broussard, is a native of Gueydan and has been a teacher at Gueydan High School for the past ten years.
Broussard began her teaching career as a replacement in the Special Education Department then moved on to become the Gueydan High English teacher for the last nine years.
Broussard commented on her promotion saying that she will miss the classroom, but plans to take her new position very seriously by working one on one with parents and students. Broussard also stated that she plans on working closely with the Boaster Club. She has been the Gueydan High School Cheerleader sponsor for the past nine years and foresees no problem with continuing as sponsor.
Broussard is a 1992 graduate of Gueydan High School. She is married to Stacy Broussard and has two sons, Spencer and Slade. She is the daughter of Brenda and Randy Primeaux.
Broussard will take over the job on the first day of school Wednesday, August 15.
