2012 Erath High Powder Puff Court: Gannon Broussard, Brett Young, Coy Clostio, Hunter Darby, Powder Puff King Shay Primeaux, Jordan Lange, Brennan Barras, Wayne Scalsi and Austin Domingues. The boys were escorted by their mothers during the Powder Puff game on Tuesday, September 11, 2012. Shay Primeaux was crowned King during the presentation.
The classes honored this year will be 1932, 1942, 1952, 1962, 1972, 1982, 1987 (25 years), 1992 and 2002. This year's theme is "Cruising to a Bobcat Victory!" high school students are participating in daily activities all week as part of the festivities. Those activities can be found on the EHS homecoming link on the website.
Schedule of Events
I. Powder Puff : The EHS Powder Puff event was held earlier on Tuesday, Sept. 11 as a "Jump Start Event" to the homecoming festivities.
In addition to flag football games between the classes, the Powder Puff court members were escorted by their mothers, the King was crowned and the Homecoming Court members were announced. Those on the Erath Powder Puff Court were Austin Domingues, Brennan Barras, Wayne Scalisi, Coy Clostio, Jordan Lange, Hunter Darby, Brett Young, Shay Primeaux and Gannon Broussard. Shay Primeaux was crowned King at the Powder Puff game.
That evening the 2012 Homecoming Court was announced. Those included: Claire Gondron, Callie Dore, Sandra Pham, Miranda Hebert, Jamie Mallet, Shae Delcambre, Brittany Goutierrez, Annie Watson and Jada Guidry.
Two crown bearers, Michelle Spaziante and Ty Primeaux from Dozier Elementary were chosen to carry the crown and flowers for the crowning of the queen on homecoming night.
II. Sept. 23-27 Student Homecoming Week Activities
a) On Sunday, September 23rd, high students will participate in the Block Party to decorate floats. During this week, students will be allowed to dress up to match the theme for the day. The events are as follows: Monday - Port of Call: Hawaii Monday - Luau in the Courtyard with a Bobcat Limbo Contest and Dance Off Competition; Tuesday- Port of Call: Mexico Tuesday - Courtyard Fiesta with Pinatas hanging from the Bobcat Oak and an Eating Competition; Wednesday it will be a Day at Sea/Stomp Class Competition; Thursday: Italy Thursday Chariot Races between the classes at the Bobcat Coliseum (Stadium); Friday will involve school visitation, a pep rally, parade and the game.
b) Homecoming Service Projects: EHS will conduct three service projects as part of our Homecoming class competitions. Donations may be turned in to any EHS student or the front office. Classes are collecting newspapers and t-shirts for the Bares Ranch and canned goods for the Catholic Daughters.
III. Thursday, September 27, 2012-Hall of Fame and Tea-Community Center, Erath City Park 7:00 PM (Includes) Hall of Fame Induction for Jonathan Toups and Rudy Lange, well as the Alumni Social with the 2012 Homecoming Court as Hostesses. Also recognized will be all former Homecoming Queens from 1950 through 2011.
IV. Friday, September 28th Events
1. Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church 7:30 AM
2. Visitation and morning events & times for the area schools:
a) Erath High Visitation 9:00 AM-10:45 AM (Courtyard)
b) Erath Middle Visitation 9:00 AM-10:30 AM
c) Dozier Elementary Visitation 8:30 AM -10:00 AM
d) In lieu of visitation, LeBlanc Elementary will host a short "student" Pep Rally in the gym with the football players, band, dance and cheer squads on Friday, September 28th. The time of the event will depend of the movement of the football team between the four area schools. Due to lack of space in the gym for a community event and fire marshal code, the pep rally will be a "student only" event.
3. Erath High Community Pep Rally 11:00 –11:45 AM-EHS Gymnasium
4. Homecoming Parade -12:30 PM - Parade route map and directions are listed on the school Web site. (The route will be the same as last year.)
a) The parade will begin @ approximately 12:30 on Broadway at EHS and will head north toward West Edwards.
b) It will take a left on West Edwards. When it gets to the stop sign (at the corner of South Kibbe and West Edwards), it will take a left onto South Kibbe.
c) When the parade gets to West Primeaux (Dozier’s road) it will take right that will lead straight into Dozier’s parking lot. Those students will view the parade on the school campus. (The parade will be at the Dozier gates around 12:45 or so).
d) The parade will return to West Primeaux and turn right on South Kibbe and it will end on Hill St.
5. Approximate dismissal times and procedures are on each Web site.
a) Erath High's Dismissal procedure: EHS Students driving and walking will be dismissed immediately after parade and bus riders will load bus after parade. Buses will leave as soon as middle school student board the buses. (Approximately 12:50)
b) Erath Middle's Bus dismissal will be at approximately 12:50, and walker/car rider dismissal will be at approximately 12:55 (once the parade is over). The parent letter concerning dismissal is on the Erath Middle site. Parents are asked to follow the procedure listed.
c) Dozier Elementary's early dismissal will be approximately at 1:30 P.M. Parents are asked to follow the procedure listed on the school website.
d) Due to timing and bus issues, LeBlanc Elementary students are unable attend the parade as a school. They will however, have an early dismissal at 1:30 P.M.
6 . Presentation of Homecoming Court and naming/crowning of the 63rd Homecoming Queen will begin at 6:15 PM.
7. Football Game: Erath High vs. Church Point @ 7PM at Robert J. Segura Stadium.
