The Abbeville Police Department located different counterfeit bills in the city over the last two weeks The police department received complaints about counterfeit $20 bills and $100 bills.

In years past the Vermilion Parish Police Jury paid 100 percent of the bill, regardless of where the juvenile was arrested.

ATC cracks down on 3 Kaplan businesses

Vermilion Parish gives Deputy Bares Jr. one final salute

Vermilion Parish Sheriff Sgt. Mary Mouton and other officers salute as Allen Bares Jr. is carried out of Vincent’s Funeral Home on Friday.

Allen Bares Jr. will be forever remembered as a man who served.
Bares, a veteran deputy with the Vermilion Parish Sheriff’s Office, gave his life in the line of duty.
