Halloween is just around the corner, and your best bet for safe family fun is the Scare on the Square, Magdalen Square in Downtown Abbeville. The Vermilion Parish Library is a proud sponsor again this year, and there are fun activities for the whole family planned!
There will be a town hall meeting Tuesday to talk about Common Core. The public is invited to attend the meeting, which will be held at Magdalen Place, downtown Abbeville. It will begin at 5:30 p.m. Those putting on the meeting are encouraging parents and teachers to bring questions.

Abbeville has long been known as a baseball town. That is because of Abbeville’s history with Babe Ruth Baseball, which dates back to the 1950s. Abbeville received some recognition Tuesday for its connection to the sport when Babe Ruth, Inc. announced that it has inducted Abbeville into its Louisiana Babe Ruth Hall of Fame.
