James Harris Broussard

NEW IBERIA – A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date for James Harris Broussard, age 79, who passed away on December 23, 2023, at Landmark Nursing Home with his loved ones by his side.
A native of Abbeville and a longtime resident of New Iberia, Harris as he was known to everyone was a very kind and generous man. For the majority of his life, he worked in the oilfield and even after retiring continued to work.
Harris is survived by his two daughters, Cheryl B. Buteau and her husband, Troy of St. Martinville and Charmaine Broussard of Erath; his son, Aaron “Jaybird” Broussard of New Iberia; his four grandchildren, Edwin Buteau and his wife, Keesha of Broussard, Brittney Girard, Tyler Broussard and his wife, Danielle of Youngsville, and Brenan Abate; as well as his five great-grandchildren, Caitlyn Hulin, Noah Derouen, Tiffani and Colin Buteau and Benjamin Harris Broussard.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Brenda Floyd Broussard; his parents, Marcel and Lelia Broussard; as well as his sisters, Shirley B. Morvant and Goldie B. Broussard.
The family would like to thank Traditions Health Hospice Care and the staff of Landmark Nursing Home for their love and kindness they showed our loved one.
