There’s a big debate going on over using Artificial Intelligence in the classroom that I’m not sure I fully understand (along with a whole lot of other stuff like that). When I was a kid, the only artificial intelligence in our classroom came from the notes that one of my classmates stuffed into his sock before a big test.

According to official records, Abraham O. Wimberly, one-time town marshal, died in a jail cell on March 1, 1899, and was buried in Church Point. According to family legend, he was long gone from the cell on March 1 and they buried a casket filled with bricks.
I started rooting out old newspaper accounts after Gene Thibodeaux chronicled much of this as part of a larger story on Wimberly lawmen in the journal of the Pointe de l’Eglise-Acadia Genealogical and Historical Society.

Some people say the Andrew community just south of Indian Bayou in Vermilion Parish was named for Andrew Gamble, one of two brothers who settled in the area in the late 1800s. Others claims it was named for a young boy who just happened to be sitting in a card game when the name was chosen. It might have been named for both of them, using different names at different times.
