The Abbeville Police were called to West Lafayette Street Friday morning around 11 after people heard gun fire.
The gun fire is determined to come from two vehicles who drove next to each other on West Lafayette Street, a block away from Magdalen Square.
Bullet casings were found by West Lafayette Street.
As of noon on Friday, the Abbeville Police were trying to figure out what types of vehicles were used in the gunfire.

Vermilion Parish – Shortly after 9:30 p.m. on January 23, 2022, Louisiana State Police Troop I began investigating a two-vehicle crash on US Highway 167 near Lurby Road in Vermilion Parish. The crash ultimately claimed the life of 18-year-old Ramsie Baumgardner of Maurice and 31-year-old Brandon Isaac of Carencro.
Ramsie is a senior at North Vermilion High School.
According to Vermilion Parish Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Eddie Langlinais, on December 31, 2021, the Vermilion Parish Sheriff’s Office received a call of a shooting that occurred in the 300 block of Lover’s Lane, south of Abbeville.
When Vermilion Parish Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division (CID) detectives arrived on scene, they discovered two vehicles and a residence had been shot 14 times with a .22 caliber firearm.
