Abbeville Christmas Stroll set for Thursday night

Yes, it is “beginning to look a lot like Christmas.”
Everywhere you go.
That will be especially true if you go to visit downtown Abbeville this evening.
The annual Abbeville Christmas Stroll will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. It’s a tradition that is now in its 23rd year.
Abbeville Main Street will play host to the event, with nearly 20 locations in the downtown area participating.
“The Christmas Stroll is an excellent way to learn about what downtown Abbeville has to offer,” Abbeville Main Street Manager Charlene Beckett said. “From retail shops to local organizations and restaurants, there will be plenty of places open for the Stroll. Make sure to bring the whole family!”
This year’s Stroll will include a Christmas Wreath Contest. Entries are on display along the fence at the Depot. Visitors will be able to vote, and the winner will be announced at the Abbeville Cajun Christmas Celebration on Dec. 10.
During the Stroll hours, visit each participating merchant to have your card stamped and do a little shopping. Then drop off your completed card in the box located at the Gazebo in Magdalen Square for a chance to win one of gift baskets that will be given away.
There will be several shops and attractions open that you can find unique gifts for that hard-to-shop for person on your list. Some merchants will be serving small beverages and tasty treats for visitors to enjoy.
