Annie Fusilier

ABBEVILLE – A Homegoing Celebration for Annie Bea Plowden Fusilier, 81, will be held on Saturday, August 21, 2021 at 1:00 Pm at Mt. Triumph Baptist Church, 310 South Lamar St., Abbeville, LA. Pastor Willie Williams, Jr. will officiate the service.
She will be laid to rest in St. Paul Catholic Cemetery in Abbeville, LA
Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM Saturday at the church until time of services.
Annie was born on April 26, 1940 to the union of the late Cleveland, Sr. and Nona Nolan Plowden in Abbeville, LA. Having attained her education in the schools of Vermilion Parish, she was a graduate of Herod High School, Class of 1958. She went on to attend Southern University where she obtained her Bachelors’ degree and Masters plus 30 in Education. With over 40 years of dedication and service to Vermilion Parish School Board. Annie retired as an Assistant Principal at Eaton Park Elementary School.
In her early adult years she married the late Bernard Fusilier and they were blessed with a daughter, Nikia. Annie accepted Christ and was baptized at the Mt. Triumph Baptist Church. She served faithfully for many years in different ministries including secretary of the church until declining health prevented her from doing so. “Be thou faithful unto death and I will give thee a crown of life.”
In addition to her husband and parents she was also preceded in death by six siblings, Cleveland Plowden, Jr., Jeffery Plowden, Shirley Bernard, Mamie Grant, Etheline Hills, and Gwendolyn Plowden; and her father and mother-in-law, Celestine and Louise Fusilier. Annie peacefully transitioned to eternal rest on Monday, August 10, 2021 in Maurice with her family at her side.
Annie leaves to cherish precious memories, one daughter, Nikia (Marick Johnson) Leblanc, of Maurice, LA; two grandchildren, Brittani Fuselier and Kobe Moore, both of Maurice, LA; three great-grandchildren, Heaven Walker, Harmony Walker and Jaxon walker, All of Maurice, LA; two siblings, Glen (Lucy) Plowden, Sr. and Beverly (Joseph) Butcher, both of Abbeville, LA; two sisters-in-law, Sylvia Plowden-Brown of Jennings, LA and Patricia Plowden of Abbeville, LA and two godchildren, Garmon Plowden and Shellie Huntly-Collins, both of Abbeville, LA Other survivors include nieces, nephews other relatives and friends who loved her dearly.
