KAPLAN — A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, December 2, 2021 at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Darlene R. Primeaux, 62, who died Monday, November 29, 2021 at her residence. She will be laid to rest at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Cemetery with Reverend Mark Miley officiating the services. Serving as pallbearers will be Kenneth Primeaux, Jr., Adam Primeaux, Lane Primeaux, Benjamin Monaghan, Jacob Guttry and Eric Bourque. Honorary pallbearer will be Elijah Monaghan.
Mrs. Primeaux was a founding member of the Kaplan High Band Boosters and held several officer positions. She was a Lay Minister at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church and also belonged to the The Krewe of Chic-A-La-Pie.
She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Kenneth Primeaux, Sr. of Kaplan; her two sons, Kenneth Primeaux, Jr. and his wife, Nicki of Kaplan and Adam Primeaux and his girlfriend, Michelle Decou of Kaplan; her daughter, Aimee Monaghan and her husband, Timothy of Maurice; her four grandchildren, Lane Primeaux, Brianna Primeaux, Benjamin Monaghan and Elijah Monaghan; and her sister, Olivia Richard Rayburn and her companion, Jeffery Richard of Rayne.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Hayward and Rosemary M. Richard and Robert and Verline Lafleur; her brother, Bobby Lafleur; her parents-in-law, Huey and Rose Primeaux; and her sister-in-law, Joycelyn Primeaux.
The family would like to thank Dr. Anthony P. Blalock, Dr. Michael Alexander and the Fresenius Dialysis Center for all of their care and compassion.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Ave., on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a rosary being prayed at 7:00 PM; Thursday, December 2, 2021 from 8:00 AM until the procession departs for the church at 12:45 PM.
