Maggie Mae Mitchell

ABBEVILLE — A Home-going celebration for Ms. Maggie Mae Mitchell 72, will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, July 2, 2021, at Mt. Triumph Baptist Church with Rev. Willie Williams, Pastor Officiating.
She will await the resurrection in Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery in Grosse Isle.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at the church on Friday at 9:00 A.M. until the time of the service.
In compliance with infection control and prevention measures, masks are required for all attendees at the church and cemetery. 
A resident of Abbeville, LA, she transitioned at 7:57 P.M. on Tuesday, June 22, 2021. She fought a good fight, finished her course and kept the faith.
Maggie accepted Christ as her Savior and was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Abbeville, LA. She loved the Lord and her favorite scripture was Psalm 23. She graduated from James A. Herod High School in 1968.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her devoted life partner of 50 years, James Narcisse; two daughters, Yolanda Mitchell Plowden (Mark) of Abbeville, LA and Mable Mitchell Guillory (Cedric) of Abbeville, LA; one son, Raywood Mitchell of Walnut Creek, CA; nine grandchildren: Porsha Lewis, Monrico Mitchell, Cadie Sonnier Chisolm; Martin Mitchell, Marlisha Mitchell, Desmonique Levine, Shalanda Plowden, Montavian Mitchell, Taniya Mitchell; 14 great grandchildren; one brother, Percy Mitchell, Sr. (Ethel) of Abbeville, LA; two goddaughters, Birdie Levine and Lynette Green, a host of beloved nieces and nephews she loved and spoiled unconditionally as well as other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by one son, Sharome Mitchell; her father, Milton Mitchell; mother, Maggie Mitchell; nine brothers, Oliver Mitchell, Milton Mitchell, Jr., Clarence Mitchell, Douglas Mitchell, Henry Mitchell, Harrison Mitchell, Curley Mitchell, Walter “CJ” Mitchell and Peter Mitchell; three sisters: Francis Mitchell, Lela Mae Mitchell and Nena Marie Mitchell; three granddaughters, Asia Plowden, Jasmine Mitchell and Shaniqua Mitchell.
