Mark Preston Harrington

September 10, 1972 ~ July 1, 2021

ABBEVILLE — Mark Preston Harrington, 48 died on July 1, 2021. Funeral services will be held at Vincent Funeral Home- Abbeville on Saturday, July 10, 2021 at 2:00 PM. He will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery with Deacon Keith Duhon officiating the services. Serving as pallbearers will be Allison Hardy, Darrel Connor, Sr., James Delahoussaye, Darrel Connor, Jr., Nick Plowden and Dre’ Gary. Honorary pallbearers will be Christopher Saucier, Brady Abshire, Shannon Luquette, Donald Luquette, Clarence “Tony” Touchet, and John “Kookie” Abshire.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Monica Harrington, his step-daughter, Loni Hardy (Allison), his grand-daughter, Demi Hardy, and his grand-baby Hardy due in October. His sisters, Kris Connor (Darrel, Sr.), Danette Delahoussaye (James), Becky Foret (Larry), and his brother, Randy Harrington. His niece, Brandi Saucier, his niece and god-daughter, Laci Plowden (Nick), and nieces, Shalacey Connor (Robert) and Destiny Connor. His nephew and god-son, Christopher Saucier (Bridget) and his nephews, Darrel Connor, Jr. (Nita), Trent, Ryan and Randon Harrington and Brock Foret. His god-daughters, Ashley Ransonet and Mollie Gary. His two uncles, Donald Luquette and Donald Harrington. His mother-in-law, Lona Abshire, his brother-in-law, Brady Abshire and his god-daughter and sister-in-law, Karmen Bodin. And, his beloved pets, Kenzie, Bailey, Benny, and Tigger.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Preston Harrington, Jr. and Diane Luquette Harrington. His paternal grand-parents, Luke Harrington and Melba Palombo and his maternal grand-parents, Paul Luquette, Sr. and Agnes Schexnayder, his three uncles, George, Dunice, and Paul Luquette, Jr. His father-in-law, Truman Abshire and his god-mother, Nancy Luquette. His beloved pets Bentley, Tyson, Roxie, Gracie, Lexi, and Lincoln.
Mark was a 1991 graduate from Abbeville High School. He worked for 20 years as a commercial painter and sheetrock finisher serving 10 of those years at Abbeville General Hospital. Mark was an avid fisherman, loved to cook, rebuild RC cars, boats, and drones and enjoyed spending time with family and friends whom he loved unconditionally. Mark never met a stranger who didn’t become family by the time they parted ways. And, he loved his pets as if they were his own children.
As in life, Mark continues to give to others by becoming an organ and tissue donor.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home- Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Saturday, July 10, 2021 from 9:00 AM until the time of service. A rosary will be prayed at 1:30 PM.
