North Vermilion has a new volleyball coach - Abbeville high's volleyball/basketball coach
LEROY – The North Vermilion Lady Patriots volleyball team has a new head coach and it’s a familiar face – Ashly Boudreaux.
Boudreaux has been the head basketball and volleyball coach at Abbeville High since 2017. This past season she won her second consecutive district title and third overall with the Lady Cats’ basketball team.
While the decision wasn’t easy, Boudreaux is excited for a new challenge. Seeing familiar faces will make the transition easier.
“It was a hard decision,” Boudreaux said. “I feel it’s just time to do something different. Everywhere you go, there will be challenges. You have to be receptive to change and ready to tackle anything that comes along.”
“The atmosphere at North Vermilion is great. I know most of the coaches already. I already have a relationship with the principal, Denise Lotief, from our time in Lafayette. I have friends there that I grew up with, so I’m excited. It’ll be fun.”
Boudreaux will finish out this year at Abbeville. She starts her new gig in the fall when the new school year begins.
As of today, Boudreaux’s coaching/teaching position has yet to open at AHS.
