The Moutons have been involved with the Fourth of July Association for 31 years. This is their final year associated with the celebration. On Sunday they will be honored as the Grand Marshals of the parade.

Moutons are Grand Marshals of 4th of July parade in Erath

ERATH - Dennis and Natalie Mouton, long-time members of the Erath Fourth of July Association, have been selected to serve as grand marshals of this year’s Erath Fourth of July Parade.
The parade will take place Sunday at 5 p.m. through Erath. The fire works show will be at 9 p.m. on Sunday.
The Moutons are true assets to the Erath Fourth of July Association.
The Moutons have been members of the Fourth of July Association for 31 years.

Louisiana’s experimental Whooping Crane population continues to make progress during ‘21 breeding season

Patience has paid off for one of Louisiana’s female whooping cranes that was a part of the initial population from 2011The female crane, designated L7-11, laid the first egg of the experimental population in 2014. However, that attempt, along with subsequent others for her, were unsuccessful. But this year, two eggs hatched and, as of this writing, both chicks are alive.

Gulf Coast Bank, Patout Family mark 50 years in business with $50,000 endowment in Father’s memory

LAFAYETTE – Gulf Coast Bank and the Patout Family are establishing a $50,000 scholarship endowment at South Louisiana Community College in memory of Charles A. Patout, founder of the community bank. This investment is part of the bank’s celebration of 50 years in business this year.
