Abbeville resident brings issue of speeding on South State to City Council

Speeding is a concern not only for law enforcement but also for citizens who live in areas where drivers are going too fast.
Erin Borel, who lives near South State Street in Abbeville, said she feels the stretch is becoming increasingly dangerous due to drivers going well beyond the speed limit. During the meeting on Feb. 4, Borel brought her concerns to the Abbeville City Council.
“The speeding on South Main is getting out of control,” Borel said. “It’s not just going over the speed limit, people are racing down the street.”
