Francine spares Vermilion Parish
Thankfully, Vermilion Parish went largely unscathed by Hurricane Francine.
Initially tracked to hit Vermilion Parish, the storm made landfall in Terrebonne Parish, around 30 miles south of Morgan City, on Wednesday evening as a Category 2 storm.
As of Thursday morning, no extensive or major damage had been reported in Vermilion Parish. Some in Vermilion Parish were among the thousands in Louisiana to lose power due to the storm’s effects. That had mostly been rectified by Thursday morning as things began to return to normal.
