VC head coach Kim Guidry sits in an office surrounded by all of her accomplishments.

Vermilion Catholic's Guidry Going For 800th Win

And to think Kim “Gidge” Guidry almost did not become the head girls basketball coach at Vermilion Catholic High School.
Guidry was hired back in 1981 to be the VC girls’ basketball coach but did not coach a game for about four years.
She had to patiently wait for that position to reopen because a male assistant football coach was hired and the male coach became the girls basketball coach. Guidry had to settle for being the tennis coach and cheerleading coach.
