St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church will broadcast Mass online

St. Mary Magdalen Church sent out an email to all of its parishioner on the status of Mass.

“We will be posting a “Broadcast” of Daily Mass offered by Fr. Louie or Fr. Don here in our church. The Mass will be posted around 9 a.m. daily on our Church website and also our Facebook page.

Abbeville General continues efforts to protect patients, staff

Abbeville General is continuing its efforts in response to COVID-19 (coronavirus).
Ray A. Landry, FACHE, Chief Executive Officer at Abbeville General Hospital, said in response to an increase in COVID-19 cases in the state, the hospital is taking precautions to protect its healthcare workers, staff, providers and patients.

Parents can pick up lunches and breakfast for their children, starting Wednesday.

Vermilion Parish School Board to offer 'grab-and-go' meals to all students of Vermilion Parish

Beginning Wednesday, the Vermilion Parish School Board will be offering grab-and-go meals from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. on weekdays.
Each child will receive a lunch meal and  a breakfast meal for the next morning. 
There is no registration required. No identification is needed. 
There is no cost to receive the meals. Any child age 18 and under may come to get the meals. This does include students, siblings, friends, family members, toddlers, and those who attend private or parochial schools. 
The child must be present to receive the meal, no exceptions.

Gov. Edwards Signs Proclamation Aimed to Slow the Spread of COVID-19 in Louisiana; all public schools closed through Monday, April 13

BATON ROUGE — Gov. John Bel Edwards today signed a proclamation that among other actions immediately halts any gathering of more than 250 people until Monday, April 13, closes all K-12 public schools statewide effective Monday, March 16 resuming Monday, April 13, as Louisiana seeks to slow the spread of COVID-19 in the state. As of mid-day Friday, Louisiana has 33 presumptive positive cases of COVID-19.
