Volunteers of Abbeville General award Destiny Doucette Healthcare Scholarship

Destiny Doucette, daughter of Pamela Lege, is the most recent recipient of the Healthcare Scholarship awarded by the Volunteers of Abbeville General.
Destiny is a Junior Nursing Student at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and is expected to complete her degree in December 2020. She currently has an overall GPA of 3.76.

Arrest made in connection to Delcambre home invasion

DELCAMBRE — An arrested has been made in reference to the Jan. 10, 2018 Home Invasion and Armed Robbery of an 84-year-old Delcambre resident.
Through an intensive seven-month investigation by the Delcambre Police Department and with the assist of the Iberia Parish Sheriff's Office and the U.S. Marshal's Service, on Friday Torie Nicole Stelly was arrested on a warrant from the Delcambre Police Department on charges of Armed Robbery, Aggravated Burglary, Crimes Against the Elderly and False Imprisonment.

A large crowd helped make this year’s Celebrity Waiter another success.

Celebrity Waiter raises $75,000 for Abbeville Boys & Girls Club

Consistency is a good thing, especially when it comes to raising important funds.
For the Boys & Girls Club in Abbeville, the annual Celebrity Waiter event has proven to be a model of consistency.
The event, held last week at the V.N. Hall in Abbeville, raised $75,000 for the local club. That is slightly less than the $80,000 brought in during last year’s Celebrity Waiter. Every dollar raised each year stays with the Abbeville Club.
