Abbeville hires company to trim trees around power lines

Members of the City of Abbeville’s electrical crew are continually cutting and trimming tree limbs that are around power lines.
However, there are some areas where it is not safe for the city workers to cut. With that, the city has brought in a company, Global Energy Systems, to handle cutting around the city’s main, transmission lines.
“These are high voltage areas,” Abbeville Public Works Director Clay Menard said. “It can be very dangerous. This company is used to doing work like this.
“It is the same company that does Entergy’s work.”
