Erath drops a back and forth game

ERATH - The key to winning the Erath/Ascension Episcopal game was to be the last team to score.
As it turned out, it would be Ascension Episcopal with two minutes left in the game, en route to a 34-27 win over the Bobcats.
The Bobcats tied it 27-27 with 4:28 to play in the game. Jax Thibodeaux scooted five yards for a touchdown.
Erath head coach Eric LeBlanc did not want to leave too much time on the clock for Ascension. Four minutes was plenty of time, however.

VC stuns Catholic High on the road

NEW IBERIA - The Vermilion Catholic Eagles did something that not many teams, which are not named Notre Dame, can do.
Under head coach Brent Indest, the Catholic High Panthers have only lost to two teams on their home turf during the regular season. The teams were Notre Dame and Patterson.
Well, Indest can now put the VC Eagles on that shortlist.
In a back and forth game, the Eagles upset the Class 2A Panthers, 43-32, on Friday.

Vermilion Catholic/Catholic High matchup features two good quarterbacks

Tonight’s Vermilion Catholic/Catholic High football game is going to feature the two best quarterbacks in Acadiana who run contrasting styles of offense.
The VC Eagles (0-0) open the season on the road in New Iberia to play the Catholic High Panthers (0-0). The Panthers are coming off a 12-2 year and reached the finals of the Division III state finals two years in a row.
CHS has been able to have success because of their quarterback, Trey Amos. Amos, now a senior, committed to UL in August to play defense.
