Major accomplishment: Former Lighthouse basketball player scores his 1,000th point at Calvary

Zeb Green, a former Lighthouse Christian Prepartory School of Abbeville basketball player, is having a great college career.
Green recently scored his 1,000th point for the Calvary Warriors basketball team, a Division II team.
Calvary is located in Kanas City, Missouri and sports a 4-4 overall record.
Green is now finishing his senior year at Calvary with one of the best seasons he has ever had. He is currently averaging 18 points and 10 rebounds a game. He has added 14 steals and 19 blocks to his career stats as well.

Battle in Kaplan tonight

KAPLAN - Looking for a good basketball game to attend tonight? The place to be is in Kaplan.
A lot is riding on both games.
The Lady Pirates and the Lady Wildcats begin the second round of district tonight at 5:30 p.m. The varsity boys’ game will follow.
The Lady Pirates (13-8) completed the first round of district by going 5-0. They opened district with a 47-42 win over Abbeville.

Abbeville’s Zontre Scott made seven out of seven free throws from the free throw line against David Thibodaux High School on the road. In the last two games, Scott has scored a combined 57 points and AHS has won both games.

Abbeville sweeps David Thibodaux on the road

The Abbeville Wildcats are putting it together as the season winds down.
The first 15 games of the season, the Wildcats only won three games. In the last four games, the Wildcats have won three games.
Abbeville finds itself winners of the last three out of four games, including two straight games.
On Tuesday, Abbeville beat David Thibodaux High School 63-49 on the road. Last week, Abbeville defeated Crowley 64-58 in Abbeville.
Abbeville now stands at 2-1 in District 6-3A and 6-13 overall.

VC Eagles escape with two point win over Centerville

The Vermilion Catholic Eagles continue to find a way to get it done.
The Eagles beat Centerville 45-43 on Tuesday at home.
The win improves VC to 15-7 overall.
Before the game, the Eagles let 16 seconds run off the clock in the honor of Kalix Broussard, a former VC player who was killed in an auto accident on Monday.
The Eagles were down most of the game, and they got their first and only lead at the end of the game.
