CROWLEY — It’s official. There is now a world record for the longest continuous Bingo game — and it belongs to Crowley.
While official confirmation from the Guinness Book of World Records® is still pending, Elder Outreach and Team Mergist, one of the top Alzheimer fundraising groups in Louisiana, confirmed that their application to the organization has been accepted.

According to Vermilion Parish Sheriff Mike Couvillon at approximately 6:38 a.m. this morning deputies responded to a call of a black male subject lying on the shoulder of Lormand Road just south of Maurice.
Upon arrival, officers observed a deceased male subject with multiple gunshot wounds to the body.
The deceased victim has been identified as 24-year-old Stephain Brailey of Abbeville.
Sheriff Couvillon says that detectives are actively and aggressively investigating this homicide and are attempting to determine the motive into the shooting.

The Vermilion Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested Bobby Beardsley and charged him with attempted manslaughter and illegal use of a dangerous weapon.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, Beardsley allegedly fired a weapon at a vehicle with someone in the vehicle. This allegedly occurred in the Cow Island area recently.
His total bond was set for $30,000 on both charges.
As of today, he still sits in the Vermilion Parish jail.
No other details of the alleged shooting were given.
