Sixteen-year-old Gracie A. of Leroy has been named as Cox Mobile’s first-ever nationwide phone case design contest winner during a local celebration at the Children’s Museum of Acadiana yesterday.
A proud member of Boys & Girls Clubs of Acadiana’s Rodney Simon Vermilion Unit, Gracie’s winning design, themed "A World Within Reach," earned her a $25,000 scholarship, propelling her one step closer to her dreams.

The bride is the daughter of Tracy and Phyllis Clark of Abbeville.
The groom is the son of Marty and Cheryl Broussard of Abbeville.
The bride is the granddaughter of the late John and Wanda Guilbeau of Abbeville and the late Ernest and Nita Clark of Abbeville.

Bake Fake Cake!

A typical way to get through these unexpected-weather days is to binge on unhealthy, but delicious, recipes.
Baking was once my Saturday morning ritual, creating time for me to forget about work days and concentrate on nothing else but my recipe and its results.

CAKE MIX DOUBLE LOAF
This, satisfying Saturday cake, got its name from its function. Start with a box of cake mix, bake into two cakes, and you have one to freeze. So simple! And the result is so satisfying.

Delcambre's Krewe de Mystical Waters takes ‘trip out of this world’

DELCAMBRE — On Saturday, Feb. 18 at the Hilton Double Tree Hotel in Lafayette, Delcambre’s Krewe de Mystical Waters took its guests on a trip out of this world.
Their 24th annual bal masque, Rock the Force, was held, taking everyone on a musical ride through the galaxy. Reigning over the 2025 festivities were Krewe de Mystical Waters’ 21st King and Queen, Zane and Britlyn Zagar.

The Rotary Club of Abbeville recently celebrated one of its longtime members, Lloyd Doré.
Family, friends, and fellow Rotarians gathered to recognize Doré’s contributions not only to the club but also to the City and community.
Rotary Club President Todd Chauvin said the club wanted to “create a moment that truly reflected Lloyd’s impact on Abbeville and beyond. Inspired by a personal moment with his father (Don Chauvin) in 2020, Todd Chauvin worked alongside fellow Rotarians to bring this heartfelt recognition to life.
