Vermilion Parish Sheriff’s Office searching for stolen vehicle, suspects

According to Captain Drew David, the Public Information officer, the Vermilion Parish Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division is actively attempting to locate a stolen vehicle.
The vehicle is described as a 2011 GMC Sierra two-door pick-up truck, white in color (bearing VIN 1GTN1TEX0BZ454239 displaying LA license B764940).

Vermilion Parish Sheriff’s Office provides update on early morning shooting

A man who allegedly broke into a home in Vermilion Parish is dead after an early morning incident on Thursday.
According to Captain Drew David, the Public Information Officer for the Vermilion Parish Sheriff’s Office, the patrol division received a 911 call at approximately 2:14 a.m. on Nov. 14, in reference to a home owner shooting a person who had broken into his residence.

Man arrested in Dallas in connection to 2014 double homicide in Vermilion Parish

An arrest has been made in connection to two burned bodies found inside a vehicle near Maurice more than five years ago.
According to Captain Drew David, the Public Information Officer for the Vermilion Parish Sheriff’s Office, an arrest has been made in connection with a Double Homicide which occurred within Vermilion Parish on April 16, 2014.
Tosanwomy Mason Gee, 36, was arrested on Oct. 28, 2019, in Dallas, on a warrant for Principle to 1st Degree Murder, Obstruction of Justice and Aggravated Arson.

Strain: Prepare for Freezing Temps

BATON ROUGE – With temperatures dipping near or below freezing, Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry (LDAF) Commissioner Mike Strain, D.V.M., is urging livestock and pet owners to take special precautions to ensure the safety and well-being of their animals.
“We cannot stress enough that these are serious weather conditions and it is time to protect pets, plants, pipes, and of course, people,” Strain said.
