Coffee Talks with Mayor White will begin Thursday in Abbeville

Make plans to join in the very first Coffee Talks with the Mayor and Guest.
The second Thursday of each month will feature one-on-one conversation and coffee with Abbeville Mayor Roslyn White. Conversations will focus on “issues that matter to you—no agenda, no speeches, just an opportunity to ask questions and voice your concerns.”
This is a unique opportunity to get face-to-face for a real conversation with your community leaders.

Officers to provide security at A.A. Comeaux during larger events

Larger sporting events at A.A. Comeaux Park in Abbeville will have more police security presence going forward.
This decision by city officials comes after a chaotic incident that followed an eight-year-old, end-of-season baseball game late last month. Abbeville Mayor Roslyn White and Parks Director Chris Gautreaux met with Chief of Police Mike Hardy.

Vermilion Parish Police Jury voted to let contractor remove debris in the LeBlanc area instead of police jury

The Vermilion Parish Police Jury had a tough decision to make regarding picking up debris caused by a microburst that fell on the northern part of the parish last weekend.
The first choice was to start picking up the debris along the road and transporting it to the parish landfill.
The second choice was to wait for a hired contractor to begin picking up the debris and transporting it to a different landfill.

Dustin Dale Gaspard heads to Canada to play music, learn the culture

Dustin Dale Gaspard, 32, is a full-time Cow Island musician who describes his music as “Bilingual Acoustic Roots.” He plays harmonica, banjo and acoustic guitar performing his songs and singing in Cajun French and English.
Gaspard answered questions about his career and explained why he is moving to Canada at the end of the month.
