ABBEVILLE — Katherine Cloteaux LeBlanc died at the age of 106 on February 21, 2019, in Abbeville. She was born May 18, 1912, near Indian Bayou in Vermillion Parish.
Mrs. LeBlanc was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis O. LeBlanc, and their son, Leonard LeBlanc. Katherine and Lewis were married nearly 50 years. She has two surviving sons, Francis (Edwina) and Jerry, and three grandsons, Dion (Sara), David (Juanita), and Daniel LeBlanc. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law JoAnne LeBlanc and by thirteen great- grandchildren whom she adored: Lane (Bernadette), Katherine, Brooklyn, Ember, Autumn, Jada, Deacon, Bishop, Lewis, Bianca, Levi, and Luke. She loved hearing about how each was doing and most of all, she loved their visits. Newest to the LeBlanc family is a great-great granddaughter, Sally LeBlanc, born in 2018. Katherine was God’s gift to her family as mother, grandmother, mentor, and friend.
Her funeral will be at Vincent Funeral Home, Abbeville on Saturday, March 2, 2019. Receiving of friends begins at 9:00 AM. Services will be at 11:00 AM followed by burial at St. Paul Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider a gift in memory to your local library. Pamphlets from our local library will be available during services explaining how contributions may be made. However, you shouldn’t feel limited as to which library to benefit; or, for that matter, whether or not to express one’s sentiments in material things.

Miss Gabrielle DeJean and Mr. Aaron Green were united in marriage during a ceremony on February 23, 2019 at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Abbeville.
Father Francois Sainte-Marie officiated the wedding.
The bride is the daughter of Zany and Stephanie Huntsberry DeJean of Abbeville. Her maternal grandparents are Shirley Huntsberry and the late E.J. (Mickey) Huntsberry. Her paternal grandmothers the late Irene DeJean and Rose Evans.
Parents of the groom are Aaron Briggs of Abbeville and Rochelle Green Bell of Houston, TX. His grandparents are Sandra Kelly of Houston, TX and the late Warren Green, Sr. of Lafayette.
The bride wore an elegant Mori Lee lace dress with sleeves. She carried a bouquet of burgundy roses mixed with calla lilies.
Maid of honor was England Tallamore, cousin of the bride. Matron of honor was April Hollier, cousin of the bride. Bridesmaids included Kristina Orphe, sister-in-law of the bride and Amanda Francis, cousin of the bride. They wore long navy blue dresses with lace top and carried bouquets of burgundy roses. The flower girl was Kyra Vallot, nice of the groom and godchild of the bride. She wore a navy blue dress with a wine satin ribbon and carried a similar version if the bridesmaid’s bouquet.
Best man was Curtis Antoine, brother of the groom. Groomsmen included Gabriel DeJean, twin brother of the bride; Kirk Daigle and Dillon Wright, cousins of the groom. The ring bearer was Noah Jules, godchild of the bride.
A reception was held at St. Theresa Holy Family Center.
The couple will reside in Lafayette.
The bride is a 2012 graduate of Erath High School and the groom is a 2012 graduate of Abbeville High School.

Miss Camille Angelle Lee and Mrs. Daniel Robert Domingues were joined in holy matrimony on Saturday, February 23, 2019, at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church in Abbeville.
Deacon Francis Cao officiated the 6:30 p.m. nuptials.
The bride is the daughter of Anne Luquette of Abbeville and Tedman Lee of Mt. Juliet, TN. Her grandparents are Wanda Luquette and the late Irby Luquette of Abbeville, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Wilton Lee of Erath.
The parents of the groom are David and Jenny Domingues. His grandparents are Clarence an Liz Moss of Erath and Robert and Cheryl Domingues of Erath.
Music was provided by Tommy Guidry, organist and Jennifer Melancon, vocalist.
The bride found her gown exclusively at A-Net’s Bridal Boutique. The completely modern lace gown began with an illusion neckline that continued into a graceful appliqued V-neck plunge. Covered buttons enclosed the completely illusion back, which created a unique floating button effect and finished with a cathedral length train. Her veil was trimmed with corded lace flowers, spilling over the edge of the gossamer tulle fingertip veil.
The bride carried a bouquet of hanging cream wisteria, cream roses and beautiful cream peonies, adorned wit feathers, lotus pods draped in fern and accented with winter fillers created by Gayle with Kaplan Flower Shop.
Matron of honor was Angela Bradley, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids included Kirsten Broussard, Madison Davidson, Taya Gibson, all friends of the bride; Amanda Lewis, cousin of the bride; and the Jr. bridesmaid was Brailynn Doucet, niece of the bride.
They wore navy capped sleeve crepe sheath gowns with deep V bow back. The bridesmaids had smaller versions of the bride’s bouquet. The flower girls were Dawsyn Domingues, daughter of the bride and groom; and Addison Bradley, niece of the bride. The flower girls wore a crown of baby roses and wisteria blooms. They wore ivory tea length ball gowns with tulle skirts with an ivory satin ribbon bow in back.
Best man was Drew Primeaux, friend of the groom. Groomsmen included Rene Toups, cousin of the groom; Christian Cloteaux, friend of the groom; Stephen Lee, brother of the bride; Mitchell Bradley, brother-in-law of the bride; Owen and Seth Domingues, brothers of the groom. Ring bearer was Grayson Bradley, godchild of the bride and Cameron Lee, nephew of the bride. Owen and Seth Domingues also served as ushers.
A reception was held at Black’s Reception and Banquet Hall in Abbeville, LA. The bride’s cake was a three tier cake with an ivory butter cream frosting filled with cream cheese, chocolate butter cream; and cookies and cream. It was topped with similar flowers to the bride’s bouquet.
The groom’s cake was created with a hunting theme. It was a two tiered flavored cake with cream cheese and pecan praline.
A rehearsal dinner was held Friday, February 22, 2019 at the home of Derek and Becky Meaux, hosted by the groom’s parents.
The bride is a 2015 graduate of Vermilion Catholic High School. She is employed by OEG Offshore in Broussard, LA.
The groom is a 2015 graduate of Erath High School and is employed by Automated Production in Broussard.

COW ISLAND — A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at St. Anne Catholic Church honoring the life of Paul Warren Lemaire, 84, who died Friday, February 22, 2019 at The Carpenter House of St. Joseph Hospice. He will be laid to rest at Immaculate Conception Cemetery with Reverend Matthew Barzare officiating the services.
He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Wanda N. Lemaire; his seven children, Paul W. Lemaire, Jr. and his wife, Meljoanne of Port Sulphur, LA, Carolyn Denney and her husband, Chris of Picayune, Mississippi, David Lemaire and his wife, Teresa of Slaughter, LA, Charles Groves and his wife, Charlotte of Dallas, Georgia, Margaret Bromwell and her husband, Troy of Picayune, Mississippi, Kimberly Smith of Carriere, Mississippi, and Janalynn Smith and her husband, Joey of Vancleave, Mississippi; 20 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; five brothers, Bradley Lemaire and his wife, Louella of Dutchtown, Jimmy Lemaire and his wife, Dianna of Brusly, Jerry Lemaire and his wife, Rita of Rayne, Terry Lemaire and his wife, Judy of Forked Island, and Wade Lemaire and his wife, Rosa of Cow Island; three sisters, Betty Anderson of Forked Island, Sherry Inabnet and her husband, Gene of Dutchtown, and Blondie Lemaire of Cow Island; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leopold "Paul" Lemaire and the former Evelia "Blanche" Hebert; and his brother, Carl Lemaire.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Ave., on Monday, February 25, 2019 from 2:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a rosary being prayed at 7:00 PM; Tuesday, February 26, 2019 from 8:00 AM until 9:30 AM when the procession will depart for the church.

Ryan Bourriaque
Ryan Bourriaque is the new State Representative for District 47.
Bourriaque won a special election on Saturday to fill the vacant spot. Bourriaque received 3,180 (63 percent) of the votes. Ben Rivera received 1,831 votes (37 percent).
District 47 includes parts of Vermilion, Calcasieu and Cameron Parishes.
DELCAMBRE – A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted for Mr. Elridge Joseph LeBlanc, age 88, at 1:00 pm Monday, February 25, 2019 at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church with Fr. Thomas Voorhies officiating. Interment will follow at the Our Lady of the Lake Mausoleum with Military Honors conducted by Iberia Parish Veterans Honor Guard.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 noon until 9:00 pm on Sunday with a Rosary at 7:00 pm. The funeral home will reopen at 8:00 am on Monday until service time.
A native of Iberia Parish and resident of Delcambre, Mr. LeBlanc passed away at 3:05 am on Thursday, February 21, 2019 at The Carpenter House.
Mr. LeBlanc was a veteran of the US Army who faithfully served his country as a Paratrooper. He was employed at Diamond Crystal Salt Mine in Jefferson Island for 25 years. He was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church; The American Legion and Wave Hunting Club in Arkansas.
His hobbies included hunting, fishing and watching sports, especially LSU. “Papa El” as he was affectionately known by his family, described him as humble, kind, never met a stranger and he loved so hard. He was most happy when surrounded by his family and his legacy of love will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Lou Falgout LeBlanc; one son, David Joe LeBlanc; two daughters, Jenny L. Delcambre and Diane L. Langlinais and husband Randolf all of Delcambre; seven grandchildren, Edie Duhon and Coy; Cody Delcambre and Erica Griffin; Stoney Delcambre and Sarah; Beau Langlinais; Heidi Comeaux and Quentin; Shani Langlinais; and Brooke Domingues and Tyler; twelve great grandchildren, Addison, Katie, Tyler, Kamden, Rudy Michael, Lily, Graham, Rosie, Ryanne, Huck, Ellie and Sully; and two brothers, Arnold LeBlanc and Earline of Delcambre and Orien LeBlanc and Diane of Akron, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Delino and Celima Comeaux LeBlanc; one sister, Lorraine L. Duhon; three brothers, Reles LeBlanc; Reynold LeBlanc and Dorance LeBlanc and his son in law, Rudy Delcambre.
Pallbearers will be Cody Delcambre, Stoney Delcambre, Beau Langlinais, Coy Duhon, Quentin Comeaux and Tyler Domingues. Addison Duhon, Lyn Meyers and Duke Landry will serve as honorary pallbearers.

A native of Lafayette and a resident of Youngsville, Mr. Arceneaux died at 1:45 p.m. on Friday, February 22, 2019 at his residence. He worked in the Seafood Industry for over 30 years and was known for his enjoyment of fishing, his dogs, and just being outdoors. His greatest joy was his family.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Ellie N. Arceneaux of Youngsville; a son, Aaron Arceneaux of Lafayette; a daughter, Hannah Doyle and her husband Logan of Vinton; a granddaughter, Allison Grace Doyle; five brothers, Forrest P. Arceneaux, Jr., Harris Arceneaux, Alvin Arceneaux, Russell Arceneaux, and Mike Arceneaux; and five sisters, Audrey Blanchard, Shirley Arceneaux, Barbara Porrier, Annie Blanchard, and Yvonne Louviere.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Forrest P. Arceneaux, Sr. and Hazel Touchet Arceneaux; and two brothers, Ricky Arceneaux and Willis Arceneaux.
Serving as pallbearers will be Aaron Arceneaux, Logan Doyle, David Johnson, Mike Arceneaux, Harris Arceneaux, and Josh Jesensky.
