Mrs. Doug Greenman

Brooke Hebert-Doug Greenman unite in marriage

Miss Brooke Hebert of Erath, and Mr. Doug Greenman of Lake Charles, La., were joined in holy matrimony during a nuptial Mass held on Saturday, May 6, 2017, at Our Lady of Faitma Catholic Church in Lafayette, La.
Msgr. J. Douglas Courville officiated the 7 p.m. ceremony.
Parents of the bride are Maurice and Melissa Hebert of Erath, La.
Parents of the groom are Gerald and Elaine Greenman of Lake Charles. He is the grandson of William Greenman of Crowley, La.
Music for the ceremony was provided by Keith D’Anna, organist and Rachel Gaspard and Jay Broussard, cantors.
Readings were given by Glenn Greenman, uncle of the groom and Ann Marie Bernard, cousin of the bride.
Ushers included Casey Ryan and Michael Reeks, friends of the groom; and Kelly Bouillion and Stephen McCulloh, brothers-in-laws of the bride.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore a beautiful ivory lace over dolce satin fit and flare wedding gown with sparkling diamente beading throughout and romantic capped sleeves, along with embellishment at the waist. She wore an elbow length veil adorned with lace and pearl beading.
She carried a beautiful nosegay bouquet with white hydrangeas and pink blush roses nestled within. Also, entertwined in the bouquet was a rosary which belonged to the bride’s mother. The handle was wrapped with pearls.
The mother of the bride wore a sophisticated lace peplum gown in Proseceo featuring a satin belt, delicate illusion crew neckline and scalloped three-quarter sleeves. She was escorted by Kelly Bouillion and Stephen McCulloh, her son-in-laws
The mother of the groom wore a burgundy dress with a fitted A-line skirt. The dress featured a gathered bodice with beaded accents and a V-front and back neckline. She was escorted by Doug Greenman, her son.
Matrons of honor included Angela Bouillion and April McCulloh, both sisters of the bride. Bridesmaids included Emma Bouillion, niece of the bride; Stephanie Smith, friend of the bride; Kelly Greenman, sister-in-law of the groom; Tricia Rood, friend of the bride and Laina Raggette, cousin of the bride. The junior bridesmaid was Zoe Bouillion, niece of the bride. The flower girl was Ann Claire McCulloh, niece of the bride.
The attendants wore full length individually designed navy dupioni dresses designed by Alfred Sung.
Best Men were Craig Greenman and Dylan Greenman, brothers of the groom. Groomsmen included Mason McCain, Austen Baca, Ryan Smith, Andy Meschwitz, Brett Matherne and Jonathan Cox, friends of the groom. The ring bearers were Harrison McCulloh, nephew of the bride and Andrew Greenman, nephew of the groom.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the River Oaks Event Center in Lafayette.
Upon their return from a wedding trip to Cancun, Mexico, the couple will reside in Lake Charles, LA.

Kori David - Sean Comeaux announce engagement

Mr. and Mrs. Dirk David of Abbeville, La. are pleased to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Kori Michelle David, to Sean Michael Comeaux of Youngsville, La. He is the son of Donna A. Comeaux of New Iberia and Mr. and Mrs. S. Michael Comeaux of Youngsville, La.
The wedding will take place on Friday, June 23, 2017, during a 6:30 p.m. ceremony at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church in Abbeville.
The grandparents of the future bride are Del Dean David and the late Dale David of Cow Island, La. and Mr. and Mrs. Allen Bourque and the late Gayle Bourque of Abbeville.
She is a 2012 graduate of Vermilion Catholic High School, 2015 graduate of UL Lafayette with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and a 2016 Master of Business Administration from UL Lafayette. She is employed as a commercial credit analyst at Home Bank.
Grandparents of the prospective groom are Karl Andrus and the late Mary Ann Andrus, the late Willie Comeaux and Marie Comeaux and Eva Delcambre and the late Dalton Delcambre, all of New Iberia.
Sean is a 2004 graduate of Catholic High School of New Iberia and a 2009 graduate of Nicholls State University in Thibodeaux, La. with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration.
He is currently employed by the St. Mary Parish School Board as a business teacher and the head basketball coach at Berwick High School.

Miss Tiffany Marie Hebert and Jerry Martin Leadley, Jr., both of Fort Dodge, Iowa, became man and wife during a 7 p.m. wedding ceremonyon Saturday, April 29, 2017, at Rip Van Winkle Garden in New Iberia, La.
Rev. Brandon Thibodeaux officiated the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Chris Hebert, Carol Theriot of Abbeville and Lynetter Romero Hebrt of Abbeville. Her grandparents are Ella Hebert and the late Dudley Hebert of Erath, La., Mildred Delcambre and the late Leo Delcambre of Delcambre and Whitney Romero of New Iberia, La.
Parents of the groom are Jerry Leadley, Sr. and Joann Grossnickle of Fort Dodge, Iowa. His grandparents are Bob and Arlene Milberger, the late Ward “Bud” Grossnickle, the late Delila and Loren Nelson, and the late Leo Leadley, all of Fort Dodge, Iowa.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore a tulle ball gown in ivory. The scroll lace which adorned the bodice created an elegant pattern that partnered beautifully with the illusion capped sleeves. The bride wore a beaded and embroidered scallop-edged veil in ivory. She carried a large, black stemmed bouquet filled with an array of red roses, red calla lilies, black feathers and red and black pearls. The bride also wore a red feather in her hair.
Jessica Hebert, cousin of the bride, served as maid of honor. Matrons of honor were Dora Bowen, godmother of the bride and Jessica Ardoin, friend of the bride.
Bridesmaids included Crystal Ross, sister of the bride; Marsha Romero, aunt of the bride and Nichole Standridge, friend of the bride. Junior bridesmaid was Reese Thibeaux, godchild of the bride.
The attendants wore a pinup couture Havana Nights dress in black with a red petticoat under the dress. They also wore red Pop Plano Mary Jane pumps. They all carried a smaller version of the bride’s bouquet.
The flower girl was Kinley Hebert, godchild of the bride and daughter of her late brother, Jonathan Hebert and Dianna DeRousselle. She wore a floor length ball gown with a full tulle skirt and lovely lace bodice in soft white. The sweetest part of her dress was a heart cutout and bow in the back. She also wore a dainty tiara with white diamonds.
Serving as best man was Adam Froisland, friend of the groom. Groomsmen included Eric Bowen, godfather of the bride; Jeremy Romero, uncle of the bride, Joshua Hebert, brother of the bride; Izaiah Leadley, nephew of the groom; Jerry, Leadley, Sr., father of the groom; and Jordan Desormeaux, nephew of the bride. Junior groomsman was Alexander Hebert, son of the bride. Ring bearers were Kolston and Khason Hebert, the bride’s godchildren and the twin sons of the her late brother, Johnathan Hebert and Dianna DeRousselle. Ushers were nephews of the groom, Antavion Adams, Onterrius Adams and Rolando Leadley.
The reception was held at Rip Van Winkle Gardens.
The bride’s cake was three tiered with red roses down one side and black lace on each tier. The groom’s cake was a San Francisco 49’ers cake.
The couple will reside in Fort Dodge, Iowa.
A rehearsal dinner was held on Thursday, April 27, 2017, in Lafayette at the home of Crystal Ross, sister of the bride.
The bride is a 2002 graduate of Abbeville High School and is employed with Hub Enterprises.
The groom is a 2003 graduate of Fort Dodge Senior High School and is employed by Iowa Fire Control.

Miss Fran Faulk becomes Mrs. Koby Trahan

Miss Fran Elizabeth Faulk of Kaplan and Mr. Koby Leonard Trahan of Maurice were joined in holy matrimony during a nuptial Mass on Saturday, May 6, 2016, at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Maurice, La.
Father Joe Breaux officiated the 6 p.m. ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Faulk of Kaplan. Her grandparents are the late Mr. and Mrs. Otto Trahan and the late Mr. and Mrs. Roland Faulk, all of Kaplan.
The groom is the son of Ms. Wanda Trahan and the late Wendell Trahan of Maurice, La. His grandparents are Vernice Derouen and the late Perry Derouen of St. Martinville, La. and Magdalene Trahan and the late Leonard “B.B.” Trahan of Maurice, La.
Music for the ceremony was provided by Meredith Boudreaux, vocalist; Melissa LaCour, pianist and Alayna Dugas, violinist.
Readings were given by Myrna Simon, godmother of the bride and Georgette Durand, godmother of the groom.
The mother of the bride was escorted her husband. The mother of the groom was escorted by the groom.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore an ivory fit-and-flare Maggie Sottero gown. The gown had lace appliques which danced over a crosshatch patterned tulle featuring a lace illusion with a keyhole detail under a scoop back. It was completed with a sweetheart neckline lace appliqued straps and back ruching, finalized with crystal buttons and zipper closure. She completed the ensemble with a circular chapel length veil.
She carried a whimsical bouquet of white hydranges, white O’hara garden roses, white polo roses, white spray roses, silver dollar eucalyptus trimmed with dusty miller accented with a flowing ribbon. Tucked in her bouqet was a mother of pearl rosary which belonged to her grandmother.
Katelyn Hargrave, friend of the bride served as maid of honor. Matron of honor was Jenny Duhon, friend of the bride. Bridesmaids included Victoria Trahan, sister of the groom; Kelsie Dehart, Lindsey Hollier, Lacey Denais, Lauren Jordan, Jill Landry and Meagan Duhon, all friends of the bride. Ady Broussard, godchild of the groom, served as flower girl.
The attendants each wore a blush floor-length crepe and charmeuse Vera Wang dress with a straight strapless neckline and a satin trapunto-stitched belt at the waist. Their bouquets were of white polo roses, white carnations, white lisianthas with white snapdragon silver dollar eucalyptus.
Brady Duhon, friend of the groom, served as best man. Groosmen included Logan Geautreaux, cousin of the groom; Blake landry, Bryant Denais, Travis Bodin, Trevor Courville, Trevor Picard, Treg Broussard and Joey Whitmore, all friends of the groom. Griffin Duhon, son of Brandan and Jenny Duhon, served as the ring bearer.
Ushers were Brandan Duhon, friend of the bride and groom; Mason Duhon, son of Brandan and Jenny Duhon; Von Darius Heard, friend of the bride and groom.
Immediately following the wedding, a reception was held at the VN Hall in Abbeville.
Upon their return from a wedding trip to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, the couple will reside in Maurice.

Zoey Broussard and Emily Gallet of VC

VC doubles' tennis team reaches semifinals

The Vermilion Catholic doubles team of Emily Gallet and Zoey Broussard began the Division IV State Tennis Tournament with a losing match record of 6-7. The two ladies surprised everyone by reaching the state semifinals recently.
Broussard and Gallet lost to doubles team from Newman High School two matches to none. Newman would go on to win state.
Gallet and Broussad put together their longest win streak of three matches in the state tournament.
In the tournament, they beat Sacred Heart of Grand Coteau (2-0), Cedar Creek (2-0) and Metarie Park Country Day (2-0).

Connor Dupuy of North Vermilion

North Vermilion's Connor Dupuy district MVP

North Vermilion senior Connor Dupuy was Mr. Everything for the Patriots.
He could do it all on defense, offense and on the pitching mound.
Because he was so versatile, and very successful at it, Dupuy was named the MVP in District 8-3A.
When he was not pitching for the Patriots, he played short stop.
At the plate, he hit above .400 and knocked in more than 20 runs in district. When he was on base, he liked to run. In district, he stole just above 20 bases.
“NV head coach Jeremy Trahan was voted the coach of the year in the district.
The Patriots had three players land on the first team.
Freshman Darian Duhon, who had a break-out year, made all-district first team at third base.
Charlie Galluster, who was the DH in the first part of the season and the catcher for the second part, earned first team honors as a utility player.
For Erath, Chandler LeBlanc was a first team outfielder. Mason Granger and Bren Faulk are on the first team as a utility player.

On the all-district second team:

NV: Dylan Gaspard (first base), Brett Saltzman (second base), Garret Becker (outfielder) and Hayden Durke (pitcher).
Erath: Shea Duplechin (pitcher)and Andre Touchet (utility player).
Kaplan: Gage Marceaux (catcher).
