Winnis Romero Delahoussaye

ERATH — A Mass of Christian Burial for Winnis Romero Delahoussaye, 88, will be 10:00AM Saturday April 29, 2017 in Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Father Andre Metrejean officiating. Entombment will follow in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery.
Visitation will in David Funeral Home of Erath Friday April 28, 2017 from 4:00PM until 9:00PM with recitation of the rosary at 7:00PM. Visitation will resume Saturday from 8:00AM until service time.
Winnis, a life resident of Erath passed away Wednesday April 26, 2017 in her residence.
She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. She sat with the elderly as a caregiver for many years. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
She is survived by her daughter, Pauline Sandy Delahoussaye Irwin and husband Peter; 9 grandchildren, Courtney, Catina, Andrea, Adrian, Sasha, Joshua, Trisha, Jacob, and Matthew; 12 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband Elias Delahoussaye; her parents Lucien and Pauline Dore Romero; her daughter Lona Faye Bourque; a grandchild Michael Irwin; 4 brothers and 5 sisters.

John Lynn Louviere

January 31, 1947 ~ April 24, 2017

ABBEVILLE — A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, April 28, 2017 at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church honoring the life of John Lynn Louviere, 70, who died Monday, April 24, 2017 at his home surrounded by family. His wishes were to be cremated and buried at a later date. Pallbearers will be Beau Louviere, Rene Louviere, Steven Louviere, Sheldon DeHart, Matthew DeHart and Kimble Dupuy. Honorary pallbearers will be Shane Louviere, Derek Roy, Claude Alfred Louviere, Jr., Anthony Wayne “Pete” Louviere, Russell DeHart, Jesse “Butch” DeHart, Larry Dupuy, Troy Louviere, Wayne Sagrera and Jim Fuselier. Lectors will be Judy DeHart and Nikki Mouisett. Gift bearers will be Lauren Louviere and Chance Boudreaux, and Charlotte Vizena Colomb and Johnny Luquette, vocalists, will sing for the services, “Ava Maria”, “How Great Thou Art”, “Amazing Grace” and “Lord’s Prayer”. Eulogy will be delivered by Wayne Sagrera.
John is the son of the late Claude Alfred Louviere, Sr. and the former Bernice Fontenot. John was proud of the fact that he was a twin and that his grandchildren are twins.
John was a proud veteran of the United States Navy who served four years during the Vietnam War. He was a licensed funeral director for over 46 years. John retired from Vincent Funeral Home in Abbeville with over 26 years of service. A member and past president of the Southwest Louisiana Funeral Directors, member of Louisiana Funeral Directors Association and National Funeral Directors Association. He was also a member of Kiwanis Club where he served as president and three terms as treasurer.
John is survived by his wife, Marlene DeHart Louviere; son, Michael Shane and his wife, Jill Olivier Louviere; daughter, Dawn Marie Louviere and her husband, Derek Roy; twin grandchildren, Beau John Louviere and Lauren Alix Louviere; brothers, Claude Alfred “Al”, Jr. and his wife, Cathy Guedry Louviere, and twin brother, Anthony Wayne “Pete” Louviere and his wife, Linda Savoy; sister-in-law, Camille Trappey Louviere; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents, Claude Alfred Louviere, Sr. and the former Bernice Fontenot; brothers, Ronald J. Louviere and Charles J. Louviere; and nephews, James Joseph Louviere, Christopher Brian Louviere and John Thomas Louviere.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles St., on Friday, April 28, 2017 from 9:00 AM until 2:45 PM when the procession will depart for the church. A rosary will be prayed at noon.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Abbeville United Methodist Church, Shriners Hospital for Children or St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.

Winnie Toups Mayard

March 28, 1928 ~ April 22, 2017

Abbeville—A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, April 24, 2017 at St. James Church honoring the life of Winnie Toups Mayard, 89, who died Saturday, April 22, 2017.
She will be laid to rest at Esther Community Cemetery with Reverend Emmanuel Fernandez officiating the services.
She is survived by her daughter, Rae Nell Faulk and her husband Kevin; two grandchildren, Tyler Faulk and his wife Misty and Cameron Faulk; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Mayard; parents, Noah Toups and the former Anna Stelly; brothers, Howard Toups and Herbert Toups; and a sister, Codrey Guidry.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles St., on Monday, April 24, 2017 from 9:00 AM until 1:30 PM when the procession will depart for the church. A rosary will be prayed at 11:00 AM.

Johnsons celebrate 50th wedding anniversary

Richard Johnson and the former Virginia Beauxis were married on April 22, 1967 at Saint Mary Magdalen Church in Abbeville.
They are the parents of two children, one daughter, Rachel Alvarez of Beaufort, South Carolina and her children Carmen, Allison, and Jake; and one son, Richie Johnson and his wife Susan of New Iberia and their children Cohen, Cali, and Charlie.
A celebration will be held later this summer and will be attended by their children, grandchildren, family and close friends.
The couple still reside in New Iberia La.

Primeauxs celebrate golden anniversary

Earl and Janet Primeaux of Erath were honored at a surprise 50th wedding anniversary dinner party at Don’s Seafood and Steakhouse in Lafayette, La. on Saturday, April 15, 2017, hosted by their children.
Mrs. Primeaux is the former Janet Richard.
The couple was married on April 22, 1967 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Henry, LA.
The couple’s children include Angela Petry of Erath, LA; Lance Primeaux and his wife Jamie of Humble, TX; Gabriel and Holly Primeaux of Maurice, LA; Alicia Primeaux Gravouia and her husband Kevin of Erath, LA; and a special grandson, Jacob Primeaux and his wife of Maurice, LA.
The couple also have 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Earl worked for Shell Oil Company for 33 years as an engineering tech and C&D Production for 12 years as a health and safety tech. He retired at 68. Janet was a homemaker.
The couple both share a love of travel. They have trekked across America to some of their favorite places like Glacier National Park, Yellowstone and Grand Canyon. The great Smoky Moutains have been a favorite family vacation destination for years.

Miss Priscilla Stubblefield of Erath, and Mr. Cody Michael Duhon of Scott, were united in marriage during a ceremony held on Saturday, April 22, 2017, at the Erath Community Center.
Kermit Guidry officiated the 6 p.m. ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of John Coy Stephens, Jr. and the late Tanaya Louise Stephens. Her grandparents are the late J.C. Stephens of Rosepine, LA, the late Betty Domingue of Abbeville, Rebecca Boudreaux and the late Sabra Boudreaux of Hemphill, TX.
The groom is the son of Kevin Trahan of Scott, La., and Carla Duhon Hernandez of Scott, LA. His grandparents are the late Carrol and Nettie Trahan of Duson, LA and Gay Nell Duhon and the late Carlton Duhon of Scott, LA.
Music for the ceremony was performed by Blake Broussard, vocalist.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore a white A-line dress with hand sewn black lace around the waist and down the train. For her special day, the bride wore a floral silver and pearl headpiece and carried a bouquet of white and deep burgandy lilies.
Nerissa Carr served as the maid of honor. Matron of honor was Shay Stubblefield. Bridesmaids included Macie Landry, Heather TRahan, Victoria Theall, Daphne Dinette, Brittlyn Stubblefield and Lexie Duhon. The flower girl was Paityn Duhon.
The maid and matron of honor wore black lace knee length dresses with both straps. The bridesmaids wore one shoulder knee length black lace dresses. The flower girl wore a matching miniature dress of the bride and carried bouquet matching the bride’s.
Best man was Jarrett Trahan. Groomsmen included Eric Trahan, Corey Pommier, Kelby Henry, Eric Stubblefield, Timothy Stephens, Landon Stubblefield and Connor Stubblefield. The ring bearers were Tanner Subblefield and Michael Duhon. Ushers were Joshua Stephens and Caleb Stephens.
A reception was held at the Riverfront Restaurant.
The bride is a 2001 graduate of Erath High School and currently attending GCU to obtain a degree in Elementary Education. She is currently employed with Riverfront Restaurant and a substitute for the Vermilion Parish School District.
The groom is a 2002 graduate of Acadiana High School and is employed with A&B Solutions.
