November 3, 1933 ~ April 2, 2017

ABBEVILLE — A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church honoring the life of Earline Marie Dore, 83, who died Sunday, April 2, 2017 at her residence.
She will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery with Reverend Louis Richard officiating the services.
She is survived by her son, Kevin Broussard and his companion Lynn; daughters, Cathy Henderson, Darlene Loftin and Cindy Quebedeaux and her companion Jeffery; grandchildren, Tanner Broussard, Jordan Broussard, Travis Loftin, Monique Loftin, Daniel Quebedeaux, Treva Guy, Raina Henderson, Vicki Moore, Johnny Lassiter, Amber Lassiter, Mariah Lassiter, Kacie Landry, Blake Landry and Zack Overstreet; and 21 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Oleus Dore and the former Lucy Bourque; brother, Ban Delahoussaye; sisters, Blondie Delahoussaye, Lucy Nell Michaud and Lucille Richard; and son-in-law, Vic Henderson.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles St., on Monday, April 3, 2017 from 5:00 PM until 10:00 PM with a rosary being prayed at 7:00 PM; Tuesday, April 4, 2017 from 8:00 AM until 1:45 PM when the procession will depart for the church.

ABBEVILLE — Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville honoring the life of Kimberly Sue Grau Garrett, 51, who died Friday, March 31, 2017.

Goldie Menard Meaux

October 9, 1935 ~ March 29, 2017

KAPLAN — A Mass of Christian Burial were held at 10:00 AM on Monday, April 3, 2017 at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Goldie Menard Meaux, 81, who died Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at Maison duMonde Living Center. She was laid to rest at Kaplan Cemetery with Reverend Mark Miley officiating the services.
She is survived by her son, Kerry LeBlanc of San Antonio, TX; two daughters, Becky LeBlanc of Abbeville and Mona LeBlanc of Maurice; four grandchildren, Shawn LeBlanc, Rob Bares, Cade Perry, and Kastan LeBlanc; and seven great grandchildren, Julia, Emily, Lauren, Colin, Hadley, Saoirse, and Aubrey.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Percy Meaux; and her parents, Elier Menard and the former Evie Campbell.

Annie Romero Gisclair

NEW IBERIA — A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, April 4, 2017, at St. Peter Catholic Church in New Iberia for Annie Romero Gisclair, 89, who passed away on Thursday, March 30, 2017, in Jeanerette.
Entombment will follow in Holy Family Cemetery.
A gathering of family and friends will be Monday from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia. A rosary, led by the Men’s Rosary Group, will be prayed at 7:00 PM Monday. Visitation will continue on Tuesday from 8:00 AM until 9:30 AM.
A native of Erath and a lifelong area resident, Mrs. Gisclair was born on March 8, 1928 to the late Aurelie and Melasie Guillotte Romero. She was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church and her hobbies included cooking and sewing. Mrs. Gisclair especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Survivors include her sons, Paul Gisclair and wife Anastasia of New Iberia, Charles Gisclair and wife Mary Kay of Coteau; daughter, Maxine Gisclair Worsham and husband Dennis of New Iberia; grandchildren, Andrew Gisclair, Matthew Worsham and spouse Tayler, Timothy Worsham, Alex Gisclair, Blake Gisclair, Scott Worsham, Sarah Worsham; and 6 great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Maxie Gisclair; brothers, Edmar Romero, Edias Romero, Joseph “Joe” Romero, Antoine Romero; and a grandson, Michael Worsham.
Pallbearers will be Andrew Gisclair, Alex Gisclair, Matthew Worsham, Timothy Worsham, Blake Gisclair, and Charles Gisclair.
Honorary pallbearers include Scott Girouard, Shelton Romero, Weston Romero, Ed Romero, Jimmy Romero, and Billy Romero.
The family would like to give special thanks to her caregivers, Eva Rollins, Janet August, Carolyn Francis, and her special friend Claudia Bienvenu.

KAPLAN — Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan honoring the life of Elray “T-Ray” Lege, 70, who died Friday, March 31, 2017 at his residence. He will be laid to rest at Mire Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Brenda M. Lege; two sons, Brud Lege and his wife, Christine and Tyler Lege and his wife, Mimi; two daughters, Shantell Lege and Bridgette and her husband, Shaine Stelly; three sisters, Beverly Gisclair, Myrtis Trahan, Verna Delahoussaye, and Sidonnia Primeaux; nine grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eustis Lege and the former Louise Chevalier; his brothers, Joe Lege, Ernest Lege, and Dallas Lege; and one grandchild, Brooke Suire Bodin.

Emily is a 2009 graduate of Vermilion Catholic High School and a 2014 graduate of UL at Lafayette with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management with a focus in Professional Land and Resource Management. She is contracted by Angelle and Donohue Oil and Gas Properties, Inc.
Grandparents of the prospective groom are Ann Vincent and the late Godfrey Vincent of Kaplan and Laura Zaunbrecher and the late Fredrick Zaunbrecher of Gueydan.
He is a 2010 graduate of Kaplan High School and is owner and operator of Zaunbrecher Farms.

Miss Jennifer Claire Landry and Mr. Aaron Vaughn Lavergne, both of Abbeville, are announcing their engagement and plans to marry.
The wedding will take place on Saturday, April 22, 2017 during a 6 p.m. ceremony in Milton, LA.
The future bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Christopher and Laurie Landry of Abbeville. Her grandparents are the late Donald and Margie Broussard from Abbeville and the late Doris Landry, husband of Shirley Landry from Kaplan.
Jennifer is a 2010 graduate of Abbeville High School and a 2013 graduate of Academy of Acadiana with a dental and orthodontic assistant degree. She is employed as a dental/surgical assistant and Lafayette Oral Surgery.
Parents of the groom are Vaughn Lavergne and Charlotte Lavergne. His grandparents are the late Aaron and Alice Lejeune and Carrol and Shirley Lavergne.
He is a 2006 graduate of North Vermilion High School and a 2007 graduate of SLCC with a diesel mechanic degree. He is employed as a supervisor with CDM/Energy Transfer.

The wedding will take place this winter in Lafayette, La.
The future bride is the daughter of Allison Levy Lewis and Lloyd Rankin of Abbeville.
The future groom is the son of Dana Fergins and Ricky LaCour Sr. of Shreveport.
Taijah is a 2007 graduate of North Vermilion High School and a USAF veteran. She is currently a senior at Arizona State University, pursuing a BA in Psychology.
Ricky is a 2009 graduate of Captain Shreveport High School. He is currently serving in the USAF as an Armament Systems Journeyman on the F-35 at Luke AFB.

Mrs. Matthew Scott Ulm

Celie LeBlanc becomes Mrs. Matthew Scott Ulm

Miss Celie Marae LeBlanc of Delcambre, and Mr. Matthew Scott Ulm of Mandeville, were joined in holy matrimony during a wedding ceremony held on Friday, March 17, 2017, at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Maurice.
Reverend O. Joseph Breaux officiated the 7 p.m. nuptials.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Lane LeBlanc of Delcambre. Mrs. LeBlanc is the former Elina Hebert of Erath. Her grandparents are Larry J. LeBlanc and the late Barbara Breaux LeBlanc of Delcambre, Dolores Richard Hebert of Erath and the late Kenward J. Hebert.
Parents of the groom are Stephen Ulm of Covington, LA and Susan Willeroy Ulm of Ponchatoula, LA. His grandparents are Martha Wallace of TN, the late Jones W. Ulm of TN and the late Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Willeroy of Kentucky.
Music was performed by Jude Gaspard, organist; Will Green, trumpet and Lauren Baker, violinist.
The music for processional was Fanfare and Trumpet Voluntary and the recessional was Hornpipe, with Jodi Bolich as vocalist.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore an elegantly fitted Essence of Australia lavish gown. The ivory lace over cafe’ lavish satin gown featured a halter neckline and back bodice accented with gorgeous illusion ivory lace details. The back of the dress was lined with satin buttons leading into a cathedral length train with an intricate Australian design laced hem. Her ensemble was completed with a classic ivory cathedral length veil designed by Sara Gabriel.
The bride carried a garden cluster of blush and ivory garden roses and ivory hydrangea, accented by burgundy dahlias and seasonal foliage. Tucked in her bouquet was a mother of pearl rosary belonging to her late grandmother. On her right hand, she wore her great-grandmother’s wedding band.
Kayla Jackson, friend of the bride, was her maid of honor. Christina LeBlanc, sister-in-law of the bride, was the matron of honor. Bridesmaids included Sarah Ulm, sister of the groom; Hannah Dooley and Alyssa Dooley, cousins of the bride; Tiffany Poche, Renee Renard and Nicole Vincent, all friends of the bride. Kadence LeBlanc, niece of godchild of the bride, served as junior bridesmaid.
The attendants wore petal pink floor length chiffon dresses by Bill Levkoff. The dresses featured a plunging ruched V-neckline offset with sleeveless sheered tank shoulder straps and a cross over bodice and waistband. Each bridesmaid carried a garden cluster of blush pink roses and ivory hydrangea accented with burgundy dutch poms and seasonal foliage.
Duiet Matthew Malbrough, friend of the groom, served as best man. Groomsmen included Kip LeBlanc, brother of the bride; Rudy Odom III; Dustin Delcambre; Jeff Robertson; Chris Bouysou; Stephen Bergeron and Jonathan Kearney, all friends of the groom. The bride’s nephews, Canon and Christian LeBlanc, served as ring bearers. Chistian is also the godchild of the groom. Both ring bearers and the junior bridesmaid are the children of Kip and Christina LeBlanc.
Tiffany Bourne and Toni Dooley, aunts of the bride and Janet Ulm, aunt of the groom, served as readers. Offertory gifts were brought by Alyson Broussard and Courtney LeBlanc.
The reception was held at La Louisiane in New Iberia, LA. Guests danced to the music of Nik’L Beer.
The wedding cake was four tiers of traditional white wedding cake filled with white almond truffle butter cream. The icing of pale ivory shimmer rolled buttercream was decorated with sugar Paisley’s embellished with lace. Each tier was finished at the base with strings of sugar pearlized pearls. Fresh flowers adorned the top and two smaller bouquets embellished the left and right sides of the tiers of the cake.
For the groom’s cake, the couple had a donut and coffee bar, therefore glazed and chocolate donuts were served along with donut holes and hot coffee.
The couple will reside in Maurice and have plans to spend their honeymoon in the Caribbean in June.
A rehearsal dinner was held Thursday, March 16, 2017, at A Venue by Dupuy’s hosted by the groom’s family.
The bride is a 2006 graduate of Delcambre High School and a 2010 graduate of UL at Lafayette with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. She is employed with the Lafayette Parish School Board as a teacher and coach.
The groom is a 2005 graduate of Fontainebleau High School in Mandeville, LA, a 2009 graduate of UL at Lafayette with a Bachelor of Science degree and a 2013 graduate of the university of Saint Augustine with a doctorate degree in Physical Therapy. He is employed with Lafayette Orthopedic Specialist.
